Tide's Clint Provost Finishes T-6th at Dixie Amateur

POMPANO BEACH, FLA. – Among a field that each year yields future PGA tour stars, University of Alabama senior golf Clint Provost finished T-6th at the 74th annual Dixie Amateur Golf Championship here.
The 72 hole stroke play tournament began on Sunday, December 19 and concluded on Wednesday, December 22 and was held at Palm Aire Country Club in Pompano Beach, Fla.
Provost, a native of Gulf Breeze, Fla., was the tournament’s first round leader after carding 65 on the par 71 course. He followed that with round scores of 75-78-74 to finish in a tie for sixth place. Jon McLean, 18, of Weston, Fla., won the tournament’s championship, carding 70-74-69-70.
