Inside Tide Volleyball: Gettin' to Know Kory Tull

Kory Tull is in her fourth and final season of play with the Alabama Volleyball team. A senior from Lafayette, Ind., Kory has played several positions in her career with the Tide including middle blocker, libero and defensive specialist. Ranked among the Top 10 all-time at Alabama for service aces, Kory ranks third this season in the SEC for aces per game. A two-time captain for the Tide, Kory has also enjoyed success off the court earning Academic All-SEC honors three times and being named a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree this year.
Kory and her teammates conclude the regular scheduled portion of their slate this weekend at the SEC/C-USA Challenge in Baton Rouge, La. Alabama will play Houston at 5 p.m. on Friday before battling Tulane at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The Crimson Tide also holds out hope of hearing their name called at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday to participate in the NCAA Championship Tournament.
What’s your favorite thing about the University of Alabama?
“Definitely the beautiful campus and the Tradition, things I’m sure everybody else said too.”
What has been the most memorable moment of your career so far?
“I’d have to say beating South Carolina when they were ranked (18th) in the SEC Tournament two years ago.”
What will you miss the most? Least?
“The fun and memories with the team off the volleyball court. I won’t miss early practices or gassers.”
Dogs or Cats?
“Dogs!!! I’m allergic to cats.”
What is your favorite sports movie?
“I just watched Space Jam last week, but I really like Miracle a lot.”
What super hero power would you choose: Flying, X-Ray Vision or Super-human strength?
“X-ray vision.”
What reality TV show would you most like to be on and why?
“Survivor because it is a test of mental and physical strength. Even though there is a lot of taking sides it would be fun because it is out in the wilderness.”
If you could play another sport at Alabama what would it be?
“If I had the body it would be Gymnastics, but I’d have to say Basketball, because I miss it.”
Something few people know about me is...
“I once sewed a hole through my finger in my 8th grade home economics class.”
