GAMEDAY NOTES:
- Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
TELEVISION INFORMATION:
The annual Alabama-Auburn football game will be televised by CBS Sports to a national audience with kickoff set for 2:34 p.m. (CT) from Tuscaloosa's Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The 2004 Alabama-Auburn will be the 30th televised game in series history, dating back to the first televised game in th series in 1964. The Crimson Tide owns a 17-12 (.586) record in the previous 29 televised games against the Tigers.
In addition, the Alabama-Auburn game has been televised 24 times in the last 25 year, with the 1993 game being the exception.
The first televised game in this historic series was aired by NBC Sports in 1964. Since then the game has also been televised by ABC Sports, ESPN and CBS Sports.
The Auburn game will mark the Crimson Tide's eight television appearance this season. This Auburn game will also mark the Tide's third game on CBS this season, joining the Arkansas and Tennessee games.
GAMEDAY ACTIVITIES:
Former Alabama coach Gene Stallings will appear in the Alabama Power Legends Tent Saturday as part of Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad activities prior to the Alabama-Auburn football game.
Stallings, who coached the Crimson Tide to the 1992 National Championship during his 1990-96 tenure, will be available for autographs at Denny Quad from 12:30-1:15 p.m.
Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad opens at 11:30 am, although many activities and food vendors will be opening before that in anticipation of the many fans who will arrive early for the game.
The Alabama men's tennis team will sign autographs at 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. and the baseball squad will sign autographs at 1:15-2 p.m. Both teams will appear in the Mayfield Dairy team team.
The Coca-Cola inflatables will open on the Quad at 11:30 a.m. including the usual activities of throwing a football, kicking at mock goal posts and diving for the goalline with bungees attached. In addition to sampling of Coke products, free temporary, stick-on Big Al tattoos and shakers will be distributed while supplies last.
Miss Texas Pete will distribute product samples and sign autographs. The BellSouth E Zone, an interactive display of state-of-the-art electronic products and Cingular will have interactive activities. Foreveron will display their Baldor generators, Barbers Dairy will sample egg nog, Mayfield Dairy will sample ice cream, Kia will display automobiles, the U. S. Army will provide an interactive display, Comcast will distribute internet availabilities and 2 Brothers will distribute barbeque sauce information.
Tom Roberts, Eli Gold and Ken Stabler host the Jeep pre-game radio show on the Crimson Tide Sports Network from the stage near Denny Chimes starting at 12:30 p.m.
Admission to Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad is free. Numerous food and refreshment vendors will again be available along Sixth Avenue prior to the game. ScreenTech will be selling officially licensed Bama gear from the Quad and game programs will also be available.
Bryan Meats will distribute free product and Tiffin Motor Homes will have displays of their vehicles adjacent to Coleman Coliseum.
The U. S. Army's famed Golden Knights team will parachute into Bryant-Denny Stadium during pre-game activities and present Big Al with a 25th birthday present.
Kickoff for the game is 2:30 p.m. in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game is televised nationally by CBS.
The ConAgra Winn-Dixie $500,000 Pigskin Challenge will be contested at the conclusion of the first quarter.
Golden Flake will present scholarship checks to a male and a female University of Alabama student at the conclusion of the third period. The students are the winners of the season-long Kick for Tuition promotion.
BEAT AUBURN PARADE and PEP RALLY
On Friday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m., please join fellow Alabama alumni and friends for the Tuscaloosa County Alumni's Beat Auburn Parade and Pep Rally!
The parade will start at the John Curry Furniture building downtown at 7:00 p.m. and will end at the Quad where we will have a Pep Rally on the steps of Gorgas Library.
