Men's Tennis Hosts In-State Opponents Sunday

** The University of Alabama men’s tennis team will host the Alabama kickoff Jamboree on Sunday at the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility beginning at 9 a.m.:
9 a.m. – Alabama vs. Samford
1 p.m. – Samford vs. Jacksonville State
5 p.m. – Alabama vs. Jacksonville State
**Although Alabama was ranked No. 20 in the preseason polls nationally, the Crimson Tide was selected to finish 8th in the Southeastern Conference preseason coaches poll. Eight SEC teams are ranked in the top 25 while four are in the top 10.
** The UA men’s tennis team enters the season ranked No. 20 by the ITA. The senior duo of Stephen Mitchell and Chris Gostek are ranked No. 13 nationally in doubles.
** Alabama returns three seniors from a team that finished last season ranked No. 15 and advanced to the Sweet 16 of NCAA competition. These seniors have represented the University of Alabama in a combined 499 singles and doubles matches during their careers. They have a combined 182-106 (.632) singles record and a 131-83 (.612) doubles record.
