TUSCALOOSA - The University of Alabama women's basketball team (10-6, 2-1 SEC) look to rebound from their first Southeastern Conference loss on Sunday when the Tide visits archrival Auburn (13-4, 1-2 SEC) on Thursday night.
The Crimson Tide has lost back-to-back games just once this season but Thursday's tilt with the Tigers will be a big challenge as Auburn comes into the contest ranked No. 22 in the country. Alabama has enjoyed some recent success against Auburn, winning six of the last seven meetings including two of the last three contests played at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum.
Auburn posted an impressive 12-2 record in the non-conference slate including a streak of eight straight victories in December. However, the Tigers have suffered through some up-and-down play in the SEC. AU lost at LSU in their league opener before handing Georgia a double-digit loss at home. On Sunday, they surrendered a double-digit lead in the second half in a four-point loss at Vanderbilt. Auburn is a perfect 9-0 at home this season.
Thursday night's game is being televised live by Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast. It marks the Tide's second televised game of the season.
Following their trip across the state, the Crimson Tide returns home for one game versus Mississippi State on Sunday at 2 p.m. After MSU, Alabama returns to the road for a pair of road contests at Florida and No. 17 Georgia next week.
