TUSCALOOSA - Weather proved to be the real winner on Sunday as the opening round of the University of Alabama/Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate was suspended due to heavy rain and lightning with several groups still on the course.
Tournament action was also delayed by an hour at the beginning of the day because of rain. First round action for the Crimson Tide home event is scheduled to resume at 10:30 a.m. (CT) on Monday. Second round action will begin at Noon (CT) with a shotgun tee time start.
Alabama and Mississippi State share the clubhouse lead at 302. Tide junior Darby Sligh carded an opening round 70, the only sub-par scored turned in on Sunday.
