Clem Gryska Celebrates 76th Birthday on Friday

Tuscaloosa, Ala. - Coach Clem Gryska, assistant coach under Coach Paul W. "Bear" Bryant will celebrate his 76th birthday Sept. 19, 2003. There will be a celebration from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at the Paul W. Bryant Museum.
Gryska played quarterback and end at the University of Alabama under Coach Red Drew and Coach Frank Thomas. Gryska was a 1947 - 1948 letterman for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team.
In 1960 he joined Coach Bryant's staff as a recruiting coach. He continued coaching after Coach Bryant's retirement and went on to assist Coach Ray Perkins, Coach Bill Curry and Coach Gene Stallings.
Clem Gryska was on the coaching staff for 7 of the University of Alabama's National Championships and 14 SEC championship teams. In 1988, Gryska began working at the Paul W. Bryant Museum, where he serves as a liaison with the Athletic Department and former Alabama players.
