TUSCALOOSA, AL - The University of Alabama soccer team ran its record at home this season to 2-0 as the Tide (4-2) downed the Arkansas State Indians (1-4) 2-0.
Libby Probst provided all the offense for the Crimson Tide scoring her third goal of the season 13:16 into the match when Gillian Kilburn passed off to Katie Holtzapfel who poked a pass through the box that Probst finished off for a 1-0 lead.
The Salt Lake City, Utah native scored her second goal of the match nearly 14 minutes later when Dawn Nash sent a pass through the Arkansas State defense and Probst connected for her second career multi-goal effort and a 2-0 Crimson Tide lead.
Probst also paced Bama with seven shots while Kylie Boyd was close behind with six shots.
"We were happy to get the win today, but the execution and the intensity weren't there for us," said Alabama Head Coach Don Staley, who is now two wins shy of his 100th career victory at Alabama.
Tide goal keeper Carly Carson was not tested much on the day, coming away with only one save while posting her first collegiate shutout.
Nash's assist on Alabama's second goal gave her 11 on her career which moved her into a two-way tie for eighth on the Alabama all-time assist list.
The Crimson Tide dominated the Indians from start to finish as they out shot Arkansas State 23-5.
Alabama will hit the road again next weekend as the Tide makes a two-game trip to Houston where they will take on Rice University and Sam Houston State.
