TUSCALOOSA – The University of Alabama volleyball team will hold its annual Crimson-White preseason scrimmage on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the CAVE. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
The Crimson Tide completed the two-a-day portion of their schedule earlier in the week and has begun match preparation for their season-opening event on Aug. 29-30 in Atlanta. Alabama faces Coastal Carolina at the Georgia Tech Courtyard by Marriott Classic next Friday at 5 p.m. (ET) in the opener.
“Our team has worked extremely hard in the preseason,” said eighth-year head coach Judy Green. “We continue to improve every day. Our whole team is excited about starting the season next week and on Sunday we hope our fans will join us for the scrimmage and catch some of the excitement for the upcoming season.”
Alabama fans are encouraged to get an early look at the 2003 Tide volleyball squad, who will be seeking their fifth consecutive winning season. UA returns six starters from last year and were recently picked to challenge for the SEC Western Division crown in a poll of the league’s 11 coaches.
In addition to catching a glimpse of the Bama team on the floor, Crimson Tide supporters can also get their first glimpse of the recently renovated CAVE, including the 1,000 chairbacked bleachers installed over the summer.
