Following a one-week stint at Orange Beach where the University of Alabama women’s soccer team went through two-a-days and scrimmages, the Crimson Tide returned to the comfortable confines of the UA Soccer Complex Monday where they offered a two-hour clinic prior to their evening scrimmage which lasted another two hours.
“The execution was outstanding specifically, it seemed like the offense and defense was acting as one,” said Head Coach Don Staley. “They put a lot of emphasis on getting things right the first time and the staff took note.”
The Tide got freshman Emily Pitek back after she battled a few nagging injuries over the past couple days, while Staley said they would be giving the team a bit of a rest after having a few injuries creep into the mix.
“We’ll give them a rest on Wednesday as they go through the first day of classes and then we’ll jump right back into it on Thursday,” said Staley.
The Tide is prepping for its Saturday exhibition match against Samford to be held in Huntsville.
