TUSCALOOSA - The University of Alabama volleyball team reached the midway point of their preseason practices following Tuesday's morning workout. The squad will continue with two-a-day sessions until the start of classes on August 20.
After a week of training, eighth-year head coach Judy Green is encouraged and excited about what she has seen in the CAVE thus far.
"One thing I really like about this group is how hard they work in practice," said Green. "After eight practices, we are a little bit ahead of schedule because of our work ethic. We are making good progress in our transition game. Right now our focus has been doing things consistently everyday in practice. I am very pleased with how things are going at this point."
The Tide opens the 2003 season in Atlanta on Aug. 29-30 in a tournament hosted by No. 12 ranked Georgia Tech. Alabama's first appearance in the recently renovated CAVE comes on Sept. 19-20 in the Crimson Tide Invitational.
