Williams Advances to Finals at NCAA Track and Field Championships

Tide senior All-American Latonel Williams continued his hot streak in the 200m, as he posted the second fastest time in the preliminary round of the event and advanced to the semifinals where he posted the fourth fastest time, second fastest in his heat, to advance to the finals.
Williams posted a time of 20.95, the fastest time in his heat and second fastest among all competitors. His time was also the fastest time of the season for the Crimson Tide. He then trumped that, posting a career best time of 20.76 in the semi-final round to advance to the finals, which will be held on Saturday at 10:10 p.m. (CT).
Senior teammate Peter Kiprono competed in the 10k where he posted a 17th place finish with a time of 29:22.69.
