As the summertime temperatures continue to heat up, so do the performances of Crimson Tide senior All-American Latonel Williams.
Williams captured the 200m championship at the inaugural NCAA Regional Championships in Columbus, Ohio, automatically qualifying him for the 2003 NCAA Championships in Sacramento, California. Williams also finished fifth in the 100m dash which also qualified him for that event in the NCAA Championship meet.
Williams and teammate Peter Etoot, who qualified for the 800m with a second place finish, helped lead the Tide to a ninth place finish in the meet.
Williams will be making his second consecutive appearance at the Division I NCAA Championship meet while Etoot, a freshman, will be making his first trip.
The NCAA Championships will be held June 11-14 at Hornet Stadium on the campus of California State University in Sacramento, California.
