Tide Men's Track Heads to Prestigious Jesse Owens Meet

On the heels of a successful Drake Relays meet that saw the Crimson Tide men’s track team post six NCAA Regional Qualifying times, the University of Alabama men’s track and field team will head to Columbus, Ohio and the prestigious Jesse Owens Invite.
So far this season, the Crimson Tide has posted 15 NCAA Regional qualifying times, led by senior All-American Latonel Williams, who has five qualifying times, three in the 100m dash and two as a part of the Tide’s 4x400m relay team.
The rest of the qualifying times have been spread out among the team with O’Neil Wright and Curtis McBride posting three qualifying times both have two in the 4x400m relay and Wright has an additional qualifying time in the 400m hurdles and McBride in the 800m. Jeff Fedler also has two qualifying times as a part of the 4x400meter relay team. Isaac Robinson has two, both coming in the long jump. Peter Etoot, Todd Fayant, Peter Kiprono, Brian Rohrer and Matt Vogtner all have one NCAA Regional Qualifying time each.
The Jesse Owens Invite is scheduled to begin Saturday at 4 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on campus of The Ohio State University. The Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium will also play host to one of the first ever NCAA Regional Qualifying meets later in the season.
