Senior Judyth Kitson Comes Up Big at SEC Championships

Alabama senior Judyth Kitson took fourth place in the long jump during day two of the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships held on the Tom Black Track in Knoxville, Tenn. where Alabama is currently in sixth place with 14 points.
This weekend is only the third time this season that Kitson has competed in the long jump and the results were not only big points for the Crimson Tide, but a season best mark of 20 feet and 6.25 inches.
Kitson then came back later in the day to grab a spot in the finals of the 100m dash. The Kingston, Jamica native ran a career best 11.26 to qualify fourth for Sunday's finals. Freshman Tissilli Rogers ran a season best 11.84 in the 100 to take 13th.
Freshman Beth Mallory had her second finals appearance of the weekend, taking fourth in the discus with a throw of 166 feet and five inches. Senior Natalie Kinion also finaled, taking ninth with a throw of 158-01.
Sophomore Tasha Pharr qualified fourth for the finals of the 100m hurdles, posting a 13:39.
Sophmore Christy Fairley finished one spot out of finals in the 400m dash, taking 10th place after running 55.15 in the third heat. Freshman Blair Davis also finished one spot out of the finals, taking 10th in the 3000m steeplechase with a 11:15.49.
