Memories of David Kimani
The thing that amazes me the most was that fact that no matter where or when you saw David, he always had a big, bright, beautiful smile. To all of his family and close friends, especially his wife: Remember that God has a reason for everything, and that God will never put more on you than you can bear. So, when things seem to be unbearable remember that God is the answer to all of your prayers.

It is with deep, deep sorrow that I have received the news of the passing of my great friend David Kimani. I have known David at a personal level way back in high school in Kenya and competed aganist him at various meets here in the US. May God rest his saul in eternal peace, and may he give us all grace at this sad time. I guess sometimes God wants the best for himself.

I want to send my condolences to David's family and his wife. To me David was more than just a friend. He was also my brother and my role model. We used to sit together and talk about a lot of things at track meets. He made me realize that being a champion is not enough, personality is the key ingredient to make one a better person. David had a great personality that I envied. He always had a smile in his face. I will always remember him. I am sure that David is also here with us in spirit. I will always respect him
May His Soul Rest in Peace.

I am the director of a Christian ministry to international students attending USA here in Mobile. David was a joy filled student but he also had a deep and abiding faith in Christ. Faith played a big role in his success. I believe he is now in heaven singing his favorite songs of praise to his King.. JESUS.

'Kim' was a neighbor of mine for some time and he always had a smile on his face and said hello. He and his wife were the kindest most gentlest souls I ever met. I'd see him running sometimes near the apartment complex and he was absolutly amasing to watch. I always wanted to see him during competition. I also wish that I had gotten to know him and his wife better they were always so sweet. I was shocked to hear of his passing and I send my deepest sympathy to his wonderful wife!

God works in mystrious ways, and that is why we can celebrate David's life without asking why. I am impressed with David, not only with his competitveness, but also with his friendliness after competing against him in various track meets across the country. David will be missed greatly.

I met David in the fall of 2000 my freshman year here at UA. I always go to the rec. This year he worked mornings so when i came in to work out we would talk. I would ask him for some pointers when running and how to run to get in shape. Every one has been talking about the big smile on his face when they saw him. I know this for a fact he always had that smile on his face. I wish I could have talked with him about something else that morning on Wednesday April 16. I remember walking out the door telling him i was going to play some golf and then he said jokingly "you call that a sport". The time was 10 am, I remember because for some reason i looked at the clock.
I will always remember David, May God Bless Chamis and everybody that loved David.

I am still shocked by the demise of Kimani. It's becoming hard to accept the fact that David is gone, and I will never enjoy watching him crusing at the track. Yeah, Kimani is gone but memories of great things he did will always be our treasure, he is safe now and secure enjoying the fruits of eternity that we all marvel. God bless his soul, help her family to cope with the sitution, put their trust in God as our only soul healer.

I was so shocked and saddened by Kimani's death, my sorrows goes to his wife, his family in Nairobi and all his friends. You were a true Kenyan with laughter and smiles all the time, I will miss your jokes and I will forever remember you. May God rest your soul in peace.
