
Bama Women's Golf Finishes Play at SEC Championship

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Alabama women's golf team carded a final round 336 on Sunday at the 2003 Southeastern Conference Championship held at the University Club of Kentucky.
Blustery win conditions proved challenging for the entire field on Sunday with no team carding a sub-300 round. The Crimson Tide ended the three-day event in 12th-place with a tournament total of 983. Sophomore Darby Sligh was the squad's low scorer at the event finishing in a tie for 33rd at 240.
Bama senior Jenny Bouvin led the team on Sunday with a round of 80, her lowest 18-hole score of the weekend. Alabama's other counting rounds on the final day included an 82 from Sligh and an 86 by Carina Sorensen.
Juniors Anna Strandberg and Mandy Tedder both posted final rounds of 88.
Bouvin finished in a tie for 45th at 246 along with Sorensen, Strandberg finished 52nd at 251 and Tedder was tied for 54th at 255.
Auburn captured the team title at 903, featuring the low score of the final round (307). Florida finished second at 905 followed by first and second round leader Tennessee in 3rd at 911. South Carolina was fourth at 914 followed by Vanderbilt (919), Arkansas (925), Georgia (937), Kentucky (944), Mississippi State (960), LSU (975), Ole Miss (982) and Alabama.
The SEC Championship marked the completion of the regular season schedule for the Alabama women's golf team.
