
Alabama Women's Track and Field Team Heads To Athens

Coming off a tremendous weekend at the Alabama Relays, the Alabama women's track and field team heads to Athens, Ga. for the Spec Towns Invitational this Saturday.
Going into the weekend, where they will face host Georgia, Ole Miss and Auburn, the Crimson Tide has several athletes leading the Southeastern Conference rankings.
Senior Judyth Kitson is the league's top sprinter in the 100m dash, having posted a career best 11.54 at the Alabama Relays. Sophomore Christy Fairley stands atop the 400m dash standings by more than a second with a 54.62.
In the 100m hurdles, sophomore LaTasha Pharr ran a career best 13.40 at the Alabama relays to lead the SEC pack. Pharr is also ranked second in the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet 5.5 inches.
Tide senior Andre? Pickens is ranked second in the pole vault after clearing a height 11-06.25 Junior Natalie Kinion is second in the league in the shot put with a throw 48-08.25 while freshman Beth Mallory is second in the discus with a 169-07 effort.
