TUSCALOOSA- University of Alabama senior guard Terrance Meade, a starter for all four seasons of his Alabama career, has been named to the Verizon Academic All-District IV All-America team.
Meade, who is from Scottsboro, is a management major in the University of Alabama's business school. To be nominated for this award, student-athletes from Division I schools must be a starter or important reserve and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Joining Meade, who has a 3.68 GPA and will be named Academic All-Southeastern Conference for the third straight year in March, is Michigan State's Chris Hill, Eastern Michigan's Steve Pettyjohn, Austin Peay State's Rhet Wierzba and Belmont's Adam Mark.
In addition to Academic All-SEC, Meade is a two-time SEC Good Works team award winner and will be highlighted as a winner of that award during the telecasts of this year's SEC Tournament games. He is president of the University of Alabama's Student Athlete Advisory Board, representing the hundreds of student-athletes at Alabama.
