The University of Alabama men's basketball team, 4-2 overall, returns to regular season action on Tuesday night, December 16, when the Crimson Tide play host to Chattanooga, 5-2. Tip off in Coleman Coliseum is set for 7 p.m. CT.
The Crimson Tide is led by junior guard Earnest Shelton who is averaging 16.8 points a game and was named the Southeastern Conference's Player of the Week on December 8. The Memphis native is playing the best ball of his career as he's scored 22 or more points in three of Alabama's six games, including 28 against Southeastern Louisiana on November 25th. In his last two official games, Shelton scored 22 against Charlotte and 23 against Austin Peay, and, this past Saturday night, though it did not count toward his official stats, he had 20 points and 11 rebounds in Alabama's exhibition game against Athletes in Action.
The Chattanooga game will be Alabama's last home appearance before Christmas. It follows the Chattanooga game with a trip to the Las Vegas Showdown where it will play Oregon on December 20 in a double header that will include Auburn playing UNLV in the second game. The holidays will find Alabama hosting Mercer on December 27 at 6 p.m. CT and Wisconsin on December 30 at 8 p.m.
