"Back-up quarterback Brandon Avalos has been suspended from the Alabama football team for violation of team rules. He will be off the team for the remainder of the season," Shula said.
Avalos, a 6-0, 188-pound redshirt freshman from Tuscaloosa's Hillcrest High School, has played in two games this season, including a start against Southern Miss. He has completed 5-of-15 passing for 18 yards and one interception and rushed seven times for a net seven yards.
