Tide Basketball Attends SEC Media Day in Birmingham

Twenty four head coaches and many of the top men's and women's basketball players in the Southeastern Conference were in Birmingham Wednesday for the 2004 SEC Basketball Media Day. Sports Media from all around the region converge in Birmingham each year for this event which kicks off the power league's basketball season. Each of the 12 schools brings their head men's and women's coaches along with a couple of their players.
Head Coach Mark Gottfried and Crimson Tide players Antoine Pettway of Alberta and Earnest Shelton of Memphis represented the Alabama men's team at this year's event. Head Coach Rick Moody and Decatur's Manisha Redus were there to talk about the Tide women's upcoming season.
Fans can see the Tide men play in its Crimson and White game on Saturday, November 1 at 6 p.m. Admission is free. The Alabama women will have an exhibition game on Sunday, November 9 at 2 p.m. against Berry College.
