Rain Shortens ACC/SEC Women's Golf Challenge

DESTIN, Fla. - Inclement weather rolled into the panhandle of Florida forcing the cancellation of the final round of the Chrysler ACC/SEC Women's Golf Challenge on Sunday.
Due to the rain, the results through two rounds became the final results. Alabama finished seventh as a team carding a 36-hole total of 610 (305-305).
Junior Darby Sligh was the Tide's top finisher earning a 9th-place finish at 143 (70-73). Freshman Amy Middleton earned her second straight Top 20 showing, finishing in a tie for 18th at 150 (75-75). Megan George 153 (77-76), Anna Strandber 164 (83-81) and Mandy Tedder 173 (86-87) also competed for the Crimson Tide at the event.
Duke captured the team crown at 552 while Blue Devil Elizabeth Janangelo earned medalist honors with a score of 134.
Alabama returns home for a week before hitting the road to Southern Pines, N.C., to compete in the final event of their fall tournament - the Ross Resorts Invitational - on Nov. 3-4.
