TUSCALOOSA - The University of Alabama's Student Athlete Advisory Board held its annual Halloween Party on Tuesday night at Coleman Coliseum. Area kids came to "Trick or Treat" and play games devised by athletes from all of the Crimson Tide's teams.
Some of the more popular games included the Tide men's golf team hosting a "pie in the face" booth where among the guests that kids got to throw the pie at were Tide football player Shaud Williams. The swimming and diving teams had, appropriately, a water game where kids could fish for prizes.
Alabama's Student Athlete Advisory Board is comprised of two representatives from each of Alabama's varsity sports. Its next major project will be the "Beat Auburn, Beat Hunger" food drive. Alabama competes against Auburn to see which school can raise the most poundage of non-perishable food. The food goes to stock area food banks. Fans coming to Saturday's Alabama men's and women's basketball "Fan Jam" can be the first to do their part to beat Auburn by bringing canned goods to the Coliseum Saturday morning and placing them in a drop box in the lobby. "Fan Jam" starts at 10:30 a.m. and is free. More donations can be made by fans coming to Alabama's Crimson and White men's basketball game on November 1 at 6 p.m. CT.
