A talented player from Monroe HS in north Louisiana, Ben Soignier will likely spend his freshman season at Alabama as a redshirt.
- A four-year letterman and starter at West Monroe High School for coach Jeff Schexnaider
- Soignier was a middle infielder and pitcher
- In his final two years at West Monroe, Soignier batted .416 with 24 home runs and 94 RBI
- A three-time all-district selection
- He was named TPX Louisville Slugger High School All-American by Collegiate Baseball newspaper, the fourth HS All-American signed by Alabama in the last two years
- As a prep senior, he batted .414 with 13 home runs and 55 RBI
- First-Team All-State selection by the Class 5A Louisiana Sports Writers Association and Monroe Star Journal
- Named to the 2004 Top Prospects by the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association
- Named to the 2004 All-Northeast Louisiana Baseball team by the Monroe Star Journal
- As a junior, he batted .418 with nine home runs and 39 RBI
- On the mound, he recorded 67 strikeouts and a 1.12 ERA for the Rebels
- First-Team All-State selection by the Class 5A Louisiana Sports Writers Association and Monroe Star Journal
- Named to the 2003 All-Northeast Louisiana Baseball team by the Monroe Star Journal
- Played in the Louisiana High School All-Star game at Binghurst Field in Alexandria, where he was on the team with fellow UA pitchers Wade LeBlanc and Brandon Belcher
