Alabama men's tennis begins its season Sunday with dual matches against Troy State at 9 a.m. and Southern Miss at 3 p.m. at home in the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility.
Alabama is ranked 17th in the country and has several players with high individual rankings. Alabama head coach Billy Pate expects the match to be a test of his team's preparation.
"Troy State and Southern Miss are very good squads and will pose a very tough opening-day challenge for our team," Pate said. "It is critical that we stay focused in both of these contests in order to be successful and start our season off in a positive manner."
Schedule posters and t-shirts will be given away and refreshments will be served. Fans can also follow the action on the Internet by following the links on rolltide.com. Scores will be updated every 10-15 minutes.
