TIDE HOSTS HIGH-POWERED GEORGIA
For the second consecutive Thursday night, Alabama welcomes a high-scoring, nationally-ranked opponent to Coleman Coliseum. The Georgia Lady Bulldogs enter the match-up riding a six-game win streak including three straight SEC victories. UGA also makes a return to the Top 25 (#24) this week following a month out of the rankings.
* The Tide is looking to end their current four-game losing skid (three straight losses in the SEC). During this stretch, UA has failed to score more than 62 points in a game.
*Georgia ranks 6th in the country averaging 81.2 ppg
*The Lady Bulldogs during their current six-game win streak have defeated their opponents by an average margin of 34.8 ppg. In 4 of the 6 games, UGA has topped the 90-point mark
*Both Alabama and Georgia lost games at Houston this year.
BAMA-UGA SERIES NOTEBOOK
*This is the 30th meeting between the Tide and Lady Bulldogs. The pair have met each season since 1986. (see p.2 for series game listing)
*Georgia owns a 20-9 lead in the all-time series including their current seven-game win streak against the Tide. UGA mentor Andy Landers is 13-5 versus Bama's Rick Moody.
*The Tide's last victory in the series was a 90-77 win in Tuscaloosa during the 1997-98 season
*During UGA's current streak over Alabama, the Lady Bulldogs average margin of victory has been 21.7 ppg. Bama's closest challeng during this stretch came at last year's SEC Tournament when Georgia edged the Tide, 64-60, in the opening round.
