Tide Continues SEC Road Swing in Oxford
The University of Alabama men's basketball team continues a swing where three of its last four games (including its next) will have been played on the road. The Crimson Tide, 12-3 overall and 2-2 in Southeastern Conference play, travels to Oxford, Mississippi for a late night TV date on Tuesday, January 21st with the Ole Miss Rebels, 10-4 overall and 1-2 in league play.
Game time in the Rebels' C.M. "Tad" Smith Coliseum (known on campus as "The Tad Pad") is set for 8 p.m. CT.
ESPN Is Televising the Game
Alabama plays two games this week and both are being televised on ESPN. Tuesday night's game at Ole Miss will be broadcast by the sports network at 8 p.m. Dave O'Brien and Larry Conley are the announce team, and Ray Tipton is the producer. Conley should be familiar with the Tide, having been part of the Jefferson Pilot Sports broadcast team at Alabama's last two games against Mississippi State and Auburn.
The Tide's sold out game on Saturday, January 25th against Kentucky will also be televised on ESPN. Announcers for that game are Dan Shulman and Dick Vitale.
Alabama, who played the Ohio State game on ESPN on November 29th and the Oklahoma game on ESPN2 to open the season on November 14th and won both those games, will appear on the network on February 18th as well when Alabama hosts Georgia in Tuscaloosa for an 8 p.m. CT game.

Tuesday Marks 150th Meeting Between Bama & Ole Miss
On Tuesday night the University of Alabama and the University of Mississippi will be playing their 150th game against one another in a series that dates to the first meeting in Tuscaloosa in 1921.
Ole Miss won that first game in 1921, a year the two teams played four times, and since that first meeting, Alabama has collected a series lead of 105 wins to 44 by Ole Miss.
Following is a quick series breakdown:
- Series Record: UA 105 wins, Ole Miss 44 wins
- Streak: Split last season with UA winning in Tuscaloosa and Ole Miss winning in Oxford
- In Tuscaloosa: Alabama leads 60-8
- In Oxford: Alabama leads 35-33
- Neutral Sites: Alabama leads 8-3
SEC teams have become dominant on their home courts in the last few years, and this series is another example. Alabama and Ole Miss play one another twice each regular season as both teams compete in the SEC Western Division.
Alabama hasn't won in Oxford since the 1997 Bama team won 57-54. It has lost its last five games there. Ole Miss has not won in Tuscaloosa since 1998 (David Hobbs' final season at Alabama) when the Rebels avenged Alabama's previous season win in Oxford by defeating Alabama on its home court 74-63. Ole Miss has lost in Tuscaloosa its last four straight trips/years.
