Tide senior center Kenny Walker is playing the best basketball of his career, and the Southeastern Conference acknowledged that effort as it has named him this week's SEC Player of the Week. It is the first time he has received that award.
The 6-9 forward/center from Jacksonville, Fla., has been instrumental in the Tide's success this season, including it's climb to No. 1 for the past two weeks in the Associated Press rankings.
Walker's league nod came compliments of his 24 points, seven rebounds and career high six blocks in Alabama's 82-64 win against Morehead State on December 23rd. He shot .643 from the field, making nine of 14 field goals attempted.
