The University of Alabama men’s cross country team received a No. 22 national ranking in the pre-season United States Cross Country Coaches Association (USCCCA) Top 25.
“I think that’s fairly accurate with where we’re at right now,” said Tide men’s cross country coach Joe Walker. “Our goal is to be a Top 20 type of team and that’s already within our reach as we start the season.”
Alabama joins Arkansas as the only two Southeastern Conference schools to be in the USCCCA Top 25. The Tide returns six athletes from last year’s squad that finished with a No. 28 national ranking.
Bama will open its season on September 6 in the Belmont Opener in Nashville, Tennessee.
