In a poll released by the Southeastern Conference, the University of Alabama men's cross country team was picked by cross country coaches around the conference to finish second in the upcoming season.
The Tide posted their second consecutive second-place finish last season, but Tide All-American David Kimani did win his second consecutive SEC Cross Country Championship.
11-time defending SEC Champion Arkansas was selected to capture the conference championship.
Alabama will begin its quest for the 2002 SEC Championship on September 6 when the team heads to Nashville, Tennessee for the Belmont Opener.
