As a prep senior, he was one of the most-watched prospects at Grayson High School. He was a first-team Class 3A All-State selection and was listed by Superprep magazine as the 14th best overall player in Georgia and No. 18 at his position by TheInsiders.com. He was a third-team member of Fox Sports Nets “All-South” squad. He finished his senior campaign with 60 tackles, 10 sacks and two forced fumbles.
