2005 (Senior): When the Tide’s starting center, JB Closner suffered a broken leg against Mississippi State, Taylor jumped into the pivot spot and started the final two games of the regular season. He did not start at center against Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl, but was in on 22 plays and finished with 285 snaps while seeing action in every game but the Ole Miss and Tennessee contests. He had a career-high 68 snaps against LSU and 67 in the Auburn game.
2004 (Junior): After playing the 2003 season as a defensive tackle, Taylor was moved to the offensive line during spring practice. He played sparingly, seeing action in 5 games, getting a total of 27 snaps. He had 15 plays in the Western Carolina game, a season high.
2003 (Sophomore): Taylor saw action against Kentucky, Mississippi State and Hawaii, but did not register a tackle.
2002 (Freshman): After transferring from UAB following the 2001 season, Taylor had to sit out the 2002 season in compliance with NCAA transfer rules. He had three years of eligibility remaining.
2001 Redshirted (UAB)
Prep: An All-State, All-Region and All-County lineman, Taylor earned MVP honors as both an offensive and defensive lineman. He was also the indoor 5A shot put champion.
Personal: Taylor is the son of Vera and Tommy Britt and his older brother Wesley, was a four-year UA letterman and his younger brother, Justin, is a sophomore defensive lineman for the Crimson Tide. He has two sisters Lindsay and Melissa. Born 8-2-83. He is a Consumer Science major.
