2004 Academic All-SEC
Another of the Tide’s young defenisve backs, Eric will be looking for playing time behind Ramzee Robinson and Simeon Castille as the Tide builds depth for the future in the secondary.
2004 (Freshman): Playing primarily on special teams, Eric saw action in eight games, getting 126 snaps. He had four tackles on the season, including a career-high two in the Kentucky game. After playing primarily at left cornerback, Eric was moved to the right side in spring drills.
2003 Redshirted
Prep: As a senior running back, Eric had 1,965 yards and 21 touchdowns on 160 carries and earned All-State honors. On defense, he had 30 tackles and four interceptions while helping West Morgan to an 11-1 record. As a junior, Gray earned All-State honors after rushing for 1,154 yards and scoring 14 touchdowns. His longest run was a 95-yarder against Danville. On defense, he had 43 tackles and three interceptions. For his career, Eric had 4,504 yards rushing and 50 touchdowns. He also had 175 tackles and 13 interceptions as well.
Personal: The son of Linda and John Gray, Eric has one brother, Antonio and one sister, Margareta. Brother Antonio played at Southern Miss from 1997-2000. Born 1-19-85. He is in pre-major studies.
