Men's Track Athlete Named to Jamaican National Team

Based on his performance at the 2002 Jamaican National Championships, Crimson Tide track standout Latonel Williams will represent the Jamaican National Team at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Williams, who received All-American status with an eighth place finish in the 400m relay at the 2002 NCAA Outdoor Championships, posted a fifth place finish in the 100m sprint with a time of 10.47.
Williams’ Crimson Tide teammate O’Neil Wright also had a strong showing at the Jamaican National Championships. Wright ran a personal best 51.08 in the 400m hurdles posting a sixth place finish.
The Commonwealth Games will take place on July 25-31 in Manchester, England.
