
Kiprono Places Third in 10k at SEC Outdoor Championships

The 2002 Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships are underway in Starkville, Mississippi and the Tide men’s team is in the thick of things early on as they currently sit in fourth place with 10 points.
Peter Kiprono picked up six big points for the Crimson Tide as he posted a third place finish in the 10k with a time of 25:45.98.
Brandon Otts also had a big showing for Alabama as he finished fifth in the decathlon with a total of 6,953 points picking up four team points for Bama.
In preliminary events, O’Neil Wright ran the seventh fastest time in qualifying for the finals of the 400m hurdles with a time of 51.26.
The meet will continue Saturday and wrap up on Sunday.
