Coca-Cola Kickoff on Quad Set for Saturday
The Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad begins this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The Coca-Cola inflatables will again be present on the Quad at 2:30 p.m. with their usual activities of throwing a football, kicking at mock goal posts and diving for the goal line with bungees attached. In addition to sampling of Coke products, free temporary, stick-on Big Al tattoos and shakers will be distributed while supplies last.
Eli Gold, Ken Stabler and Tom Roberts host the Jeep pre-game radio show on the Crimson Tide Sports Network from the stage in the shadow of Denny Chimes starting at 3:30 p.m.
Former Alabama All-American John Mangum (Magee, Miss.) will be signing autographs at the Alabama Power Legends Tent at approximately 3 p.m. Mangum will also run out the game ball prior to the Alabama-MSU game.
A first-team All-American selection in 1989, Mangum was named first-team All-SEC in 1998 and 1989. He closed out his UA career as the school's single-season (24) all-time leader (47) in pass breakups. He also added 16 career interceptions for the Tide. Mangum earned Freshman All-American honors in 1986 and went on to have a stellar NFL career with the Chicago Bears.
In addition, the Alabama women's basketball team will sign autographs at the Mayfield Dairy Team tent from 3:45-4:30 p.m.
TELEVISION INFORMATION
The Alabama-Miss. State football game set for Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004 has been picked up by espn2 and the game will kickoff at 5:30 p.m. (CT) from Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The Miss. State game will be Alabama's sixth televised game of the 2004 season and the third game aired by espn2. The Alabama-Ole Miss game and the Alabama-South Carolina were both televised by espn2.
