TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The Alabama defense stole the headlines during the Crimson Tide's two-hour practice in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts Wednesday afternoon.
"The defense had a very good practice today," Alabama head coach Dennis Franchione said. "The offense was a little out of sync today. I thought the special teams were good, too. The defense had a real good practice today.
"We had a great Tuesday, but the offense today did not match Tuesday's practice. I think it was a little bit of everything today. Miss. State is so multiple on defense and we have to be ready mentally. We made a lot of mental mistakes today. A lot of things have to very sharp against their type of defense and we were not sharp today."
The Crimson Tide will resume preparations for Saturday's non-televised game with a 3:45 p.m. workout on Thursday. The Alabama-Miss. State game will kickoff at 1 p.m. this Saturday from Bryant-Denny Stadium.
There is no live television for Saturday's game. The game will be shown on a tape-delayed basis Sunday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. on Comcast Sports South (Channel 29 in Tuscaloosa) with David Crane and Chris Stewart calling the tape-delayed action.
