Basketball Team Will Unfurl 2002 SEC Championship Banner Friday Night

TUSCALOOSA - The No. 4 ranked University of Alabama men's basketball team will unfurl its latest Southeastern Conference championship banner prior to tip-off of Friday night's 7 p.m. game against Alabama State.
The game marks the home opener for Mark Gottfried and his Crimson Tide basketball team, winners of the 2002 SEC regular season and SEC Western Division championships.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the Athletic Ticket Box Office at Coleman Coliseum, on the internet through www.rolltide.com or by phone 205-348-BAMA (2262).
Alabama, 1-0, brings a 19-game home win streak into Friday night's game against Alabama State, 0-2. The Tide set a school record when it went 17-0 at home last season. Alabama also won the last two home games of the 2001 season to begin the streak. The streak has been powered by Alabama's three seniors, forward Erwin Dudley, guard Terrance Meade and center Kenny Walker who are 45-4 at home in Coleman Coliseum through their first three seasons at Alabama.
Fans get a double dose of Alabama basketball in the next few days. Following Friday night's 7 p.m. game against Alabama State, Alabama remains at home to host Middle Tennessee on Monday, November 25 at 7 p.m.
