Begovic Falls in Omni Hotels South Regional Semi-Final

Alabama junior Millie Begovic lost 7-6, 6-4 to Julia Scaringe of Florida on Monday in the semi-finals of the Omni Hotels South Regional in Tuscaloosa.
“She played an incredible match,” UA head coach Jenny Mainz said. “Millie stepped up and played really solid, smart tennis.”
Begovic was up 5-3 in the first set before Scaringe was able to battle back to claim the first set. Begovic won four singles matches to make it to the semi-final match-up.
“Millie played with so much heart,” Mainz said. “She is much improved and it was a great tournament for Millie. We are improving individually and as a team. We are going to continue taking it to the next level.”
The final tournament of the fall for the Crimson Tide will be the SEC Fall Coach’s Classic in Peach Tree City, Georgia, on November 8-10.
