University of Alabama head baseball coach Greg Goff rounded out his inaugural staff with the hiring of Michael Chadwick to the Crimson Tide on Monday, July 18, 2016. Chadwick, who spent the past 21 years in various roles at Montevallo, comes to the Capstone to be the Tide's director of operations.
He reunites with his former boss in Goff, as Chadwick served as the athletic trainer for Goff's team when the head coach was at Montevallo. He began his time at Montevallo in 1995 and leaves the university as the longest tenured member of the Falcon Athletic Department.
Chadwick served in numerous roles during his 21 years at Montevallo, most recently spending the past eight years as the Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Relations. He was responsible for overseeing business affairs, facility and event operations, as well as sports medicine and strength and conditioning. Prior to his promotion, Chadwick also worked as Montevallo's head athletic trainer and as an assistant athletic director for the Falcons.
His credentials also include being an active member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) and the College Athletic Business Management Associate (CABMA).
Chadwick earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Troy in 1994 and earned a master's degree in education from Montevallo in 2001. He and his wife, Shonda, have three children: Anna Beth, Becca Leigh and Landry.
