JaMarcus Shephard followed head coach Kalen DeBoer to Tuscaloosa to join the Alabama coaching staff in February of 2024. Shephard serves as the assistant head coach, co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.
Alabama - Assistant Head Coach/Wide Receivers (2024-Present)
- Helped Germie Bernard and Ryan Williams post standout first seasons with the Crimson Tide in 2024
- A Washington transfer, Bernard led UA in catches and posted career-high marks for receptions (50) and yards (794) while adding two touchdowns
- Williams accumulated a team-high 865 yards and eight touchdowns on 48 receptions, while adding two rushing scores to finish with 10 total touchdowns, good for seventh in the SEC
- The freshman sensation added punt and kickoff return to his duties and wrapped his rookie campaign with all-conference and All-America honors
Washington - Assistant Head Coach/Pass Game Coordinator/Wide Receivers (2022-23)
- Spent the 2022-23 seasons at Washington with DeBoer, where he served as assistant head coach, pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach
- The Huskies' passing game ranked second nationally in 2023 with 343.7 yards per game while scoring 36.0 points per game
- UW boasted arguably the best wide receiver corps in the nation in ‘23 with two players recording 1,000-yard seasons, led by first team All-American Rome Odunze and Ja'Lynn Polk
- Odunze recorded 92 receptions for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns, while Polk caught 69 balls for 1,159 yards and nine scores
- The duo went on to be selected in the first and second rounds, respectively, of the 2024 NFL Draft
- In his first season in Seattle, Shephard oversaw a receiver unit that helped the Husky offense rank among the most prolific in the nation
- Washington led Division I in both passing offense (369.8 ypg) and third-down conversions (57 percent) while also finishing second in total offense (515.8 ypg) after finishing the previous season 73rd in passing offense and 114th in total offense
- Shephard's wideout group included Odunze and Jalen McMillan, who each earned first team All-Pac-12 honors from multiple outlets
- McMillan led the team in receptions with 79 for 1,098 yards, while Odunze paced the Huskies with 1,145 yards, on 75 catches - each posting a season that finished in the top-10 in program history
Purdue - Co-Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receivers (2018-21) | Pass Game Coordinator/WRs (2017)
- Worked at Purdue for five seasons from 2017-21
- Began his time with the Boilermakers as the pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach in 2017 before spending the final four as co-offensive coordinator while maintaining his role with the wideouts
- In 2021, Purdue's passing offense averaged 355.3 yards per game, good for fifth nationally, on the way to a 9-4 finish and a win over Tennessee in the Music City Bowl
- With Shephard's guidance, wide receiver David Bell caught 93 passes for 1,286 yards to rank second in the NCAA in receptions per game and fifth in yards per game
- Bell earned first team All-Big Ten for the second straight season in ‘21, while teammate Milton Wright made honorable mention thanks to his 57 catches for 782 yards
- In 2020, Bell led the Big Ten in receptions (53), receiving touchdowns (8) and yards per game (104.2), while teammate Rondale Moore caught 35 passes for 270 yards over just three games
- Bell was selected as the 2019 Big Ten Freshman of the Year one season after Moore won that same honor - just the fifth time in history that teammates had won that award in back-to-back seasons
- As a freshman, Bell tied for the conference lead with 86 receptions totaling 1,035 yards and seven touchdowns
- Moore, who was lost for the season in the fourth game of the year, still managed to catch 29 passes for 387 yards and two touchdowns
- In 2018, Moore led Division I with 114 receptions for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns on the way to consensus first team All-America honors, the first freshman to do so in Big Ten history, along with being named the Paul Hornung Award winner as the nation's most versatile player
- Moore broke school records for all-purpose yards in a game (313 vs. Northwestern) and season (2,215) and went on to be selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals
- Seniors Isaac Zico and Terry Wright added a combined 74 receptions for 1,211 yards and 11 scores in that '18 campaign
Washington State - Wide Receivers (2016)
- Coached wide receivers at Washington State during the 2016 season
- The Cougars averaged 370.8 passing yards per game, highlighted by wideout River Cracraft who notched 53 receptions for 701 yards and five touchdowns despite a shortened season due to injury
Western Kentucky - Wide Receivers (2014-15) | Quality Control (2012-13) | Graduate Assistant (2011)
- Spent four seasons at Western Kentucky from 2011-15, serving in various roles while in Bowling Green
- Joined the WKU staff in 2011 as a defensive analyst and volunteer assistant before moving to offensive analyst in 2013 and eventually into a full-time role as receivers coach for 2014-15
- In his two seasons as a full-time staffer, Hilltopper receivers amassed 553 receptions and 86 touchdowns as the offense threw for 374.3 yards per game in 2014 and 372.2 yards per game in 2015

- Worked in the NCAA Championships and Education Services Division in 2006 and 2007 and with the National Center for Drug-Free Sport in Kansas City, Mo., from 2007 to 2011
- Served as a volunteer assistant with the DePauw track & field program in 2007 where he worked with the long jumpers and sprinters
- Coached football at Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis during the 2006 season

- A two-time All-American who still holds the school record for career kickoff return yards (1,430) while ranking sixth in receptions (168) and seventh in receiving yards (2,382)
