Brooks Donald Williams is in her first season as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with the Alabama women's basketball team, re-joining the program in May of 2025 after spending three seasons under head coach Kristy Curry as an assistant coach (2016-19).
"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Brooks to our staff. Her infectious personality, relentless work ethic and experience as a head coach make her the perfect hire," said Curry. "She has many long-standing recruiting relationships and brings a wealth of basketball knowledge that will be invaluable as we continue to elevate the program. She was instrumental in the building of our program from 2016-19 to where we are today. We are excited to welcome Brooks, her husband Tyler and son Griffin to Tuscaloosa!"
Williams is a two-time Division I head coach, leading both University of Louisiana Monroe (2019-23) and McNeese State (2007-16) for a combined 13 years. In addition to her on-floor coaching success, Williams is considered one of the top recruiters in the profession and her resume speaks volumes as she has signed several highly ranked prospects across her career. Most notably, she was able to help sign the nation's sixth-ranked class in 2018 while with the Crimson Tide, as well as a combined 10 top 100 nationally ranked players during her time at USM. Â
Southern Mississippi - Associate Head Coach (2024-25)
- Assisted with all aspects of the program including head coaching duties and responsibilities, while also serving as liaison to the athletic administration, compliance, sports information and marketing departments
- Assisted the Golden Eagles to a Sun Belt Conference Championship appearance last season, and coached the SBC Freshman of the Year and Sun Belt All-Conference Second Team honoree
- Signed the Division I Most Valuable Player and State Champion in Louisiana
- Signed the Division II Most Valuable Player and 4x State Champion in Louisiana
University of Louisiana-Monroe - Head Coach (2019-23)
- Coached a Sun Belt All-Conference members while also signing multiple top prospects to ULM's roster, including the then-No. 13 center in the nation, two Louisiana Players of the Year, three top 10 Louisiana prospects and two McDonald's All-American nominees
- Helped guide the Warhawks to several national statistical rankings during the 2022-23 season - blocks (11th), rebounds (23rd), offensive rebounding (43rd) and defensive rebounding (47th)
- Secured the program's best start in Sun Belt Conference play in a decade (2023)
- Signed three All-Louisiana team members (2020, 2022, 2023) and the Starkville Daily News Player of the Year (2021)
- Coached the then-No. 3 shot blocker in Division I and the single season blocked shots record holder in program history
- Named Lake Charles American Press Coach of the Decade (2020)
- Served as a WBCA 'So You Want to be a Coach' team member (2023)
Alabama - Assistant Coach (2016-19)
- Assisted in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes and in the development of guards both on and off the court
- Served as defensive coordinator in 2019
- Helped sign the No. 6-ranked class in the nation of 2018 as rated by Blue Star Basketball Report, which included the top junior college player in the country, two McDonald's All-American nominees and the 3A Alabama Player of the Year
- Assisted in the program's most wins since the 1997-98 season (2017)
- Helped in the signing of a two-time Adidas Three Stripe All-American (2018)
McNeese State - Head Coach (2007-16)
- Re-wrote McNeese's record book through nine seasons, leading the program to 161 victories to become the Cowgirls' all-time winningest coach
- Tabbed as Louisiana Sports Writers Association Coach of the Year and Southland Conference Coach of the Year (2011)
- Named the President's Award for Administrative Outstanding Community Service (2013)
- Guided the program to its first-ever NCAA Tournament while also coaching McNeese to six consecutive postseason appearances and the first four postseason wins in program history
- Coached 18 Southland All-Conference selections, two conference tournament Most Valuable Player honorees and a Newcomer of the Year
- Collected four 20-plus win seasons, which included three-consecutive years (2010-13, 2016)
- Led the Cowgirls to four Women's Basketball Invitationals, including one finalist and one quarterfinalist appearance
- From 2010-16, earned a 65 overall winning percentage (130-69) and a 68 conference winning percentage (71-33)
- Coached the top Southland Conference defensive scorer from 2010-12
- Assisted in eight student-athletes receiving Southland Conference All-Tournament Team selections and helped 11 players become All-Louisiana Team members and three Strength and Conditioning All-Americans
- Signed 10 State Tournament Most Valuable Player winners from three different states (Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas)
- Saw 10 Southland Conference All-Academic Team selections, one Capitol One CoSIDA All-American and an Allstate WBCA Good Works Team member
- Received six McNeese Athletics Community Service Team Awards

Southern Mississippi - Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator (2004-07)
- Directed the recruitment of prospective student-athletes while also serving as the liaison to the athletic administrative, compliance and communications offices
- Signed a pair of junior college All-Americans along with the Mississippi and Arkansas Players of the Year
- Tabbed 10 Top 100 players in the country to the Golden Eagles' roster
- Supervised guard skill development and play on the court
- Coordinated, marketed and operated summer basketball camps
Memphis - Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator (2003-04)
- Directed the recruitment of prospective student-athletes and monitored the academic progress of current student-athletes
- Signed an Adidas All-American, a Street and Smith All-American and the DII Small School Player of the Year and Shelby Metro scoring leader
- Mentored an All-Conference USA selection
- Supervised the development of post play on the court
- Scouted upcoming opponents in preparation and coordinated and marketed summer camps
Arkansas at Little Roack - Assistant Coach (2000-03)
- After assisting in recruiting aspects, began directing the recruitment of prospective student-athletes from 2002-03
- Monitored the academic progress of assigned student-athletes
- Assisted with the development of guard and post play on the court
- Scouted upcoming opponents in preparation and coordinated and marketed summer camps
Prior to Arkansas at Little Rock
- Served five seasons as the Acadiana Stars Basketball coach - an Amateur Athletic Union team
- Spent time with the Mississippi Pride (AAU) as the team participated in the 17U National Tournament
- Coached, developed and mentored WNBA standout and Ole Miss legend, Armintie Price and Naismith Hall of Famer, WNBA All-Star and Duke standout, Alana Beard, while with the Pride
