Bio
Leigh Ann Terch is in her first season as a graduate assistant coach on the Crimson Tide's staff. Terch's coaching career comes after a standout four-year career as an Alabama rower, which culminated in the Birmingham, Ala., native being named to the All-Conference USA rowing squad as a senior. "Throughout her rowing career, Leigh Ann was one of the top hustlers on the team year-in and year-out," head coach Larry Davis said. "Her energy and her enthusiasm for the sport and Alabama is a big positive for the team. With her experience with this program, there won't be a learning curve and she'll be a big boost to our program." Terch started her career by earning Alabama's Row Tide Pride award after leading her crew to a gold-medal finish in the Grand Final of the SIRA Championships Novice 8+ race. As a junior, Terch was once again a part of a gold-medal-winning boat at the SIRA Championships, leading the Tide's Second Varsity 8+ to a first-place finish. In the classroom, Terch was a regular on the Dean's and President's List and earned Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar Athlete honors as well as a place on the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll and the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in health studies Prior to joining the Tide rowing team as a freshman in the fall of 2008, Terch played softball for Mountain Brook High School, serving as team captain as a senior.
