Casey Metoyer joined the Alabama gymnastics staff as the strength and conditioning coach in the summer of 2022.
A doctoral candidate in the field of Kinesiology at The University of Alabama, with a research emphasis on body composition and its relationship to performance, Metoyer joins the Crimson Tide staff after spending four years as a part of the UCLA athletic performance staff. He worked with the Bruins gymnastics program, along with water polo, volleyball, and swimming and diving, and was part of the staff of two NCAA Championship squads.
Metoyer's previous stops include Illinois State, Auburn and Kentucky. He earned a master's degree in exercise science at Western Illinois and a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Arizona State. He has also worked in the private sector training collegiate and professional athletes at Pro Active Sports and CrossFit Camarillo.
Metoyer served as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Calabasas High School CIF Division I champion basketball team. Metoyer is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) via the CSCCA as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) via the NSCA.
Metoyer is married to the former Carley Redman and the couple have a daughter, Savannah Lane.
