During the summer of 2021, for the second time in her life, Gina Quinlan packed up her life and headed east to join The University of Alabama gymnastics program.
Quinlan originally made the journey 25 years ago when she left her native Mississippi to join the Alabama gymnastics team as a freshman in the fall of 1996. Quinlan, formerly Gina Logan, rejoined the Crimson Tide as an assistant coach after a 20-plus year career in club gymnastics.
In her first season as a member of the Alabama staff, the Crimson Tide finished second at the SEC Championships, second at the NCAA Seattle Regional and seventh at the NCAA Championships. Alabama also posted three marks of 198-plus during the year.
Alabama Head Coach Ashley Johnston Said
I'm excited to have Gina as part of the staff. I've known her for many years, and she continues to prove her competitive success at the highest levels of our sport while also fostering great connections with the student-athletes. She is the perfect fit for our program's philosophy.
