The University of Alabama women’s basketball program has hired Bryce Dillard as its director of video operations, it was announced by head coach Kristy Curry Thursday, June 2.
“We are so excited to add Bryce to our staff,” said Curry. “He has worked for some tremendous leaders in our game during his time at the University of Georgia and Mercer University. He brings next level energy and a wealth of knowledge to our program from an operations, scouting, analytical and video perspective.”
Dillard arrives at the Capstone after spending two seasons as the director of player personnel for the women’s basketball program at Mercer. There, he oversaw the budget, coordinated home game operations, planned and executed all trips, and organized and facilitated all program events and summer camps.
Prior to that, Dillard spent five years at his alma mater the University of Georgia.
As a graduate assistant with the Lady Bulldogs from 2018-20, Dillard was responsible for scheduling the team’s camps by creating a schedule for approximately 100 teams at multiple sites over a three-day period. He also created game clips for individual player development, managed the team’s incentive program and helped with the preparation of scouting reports. Additionally, he coached the scout team at practice and helped with multiple aspects of recruit visits.
He was also a student manager in Athens from 2015-18. Dillard was trusted with assisting in practice operations, team equipment, filming and working camps.
Dillard gained valuable coaching experience in 2017 when he worked with Darius Taylor of the Atlanta Dream to help grow the skills of young players in the Athens area as an assistant coach with his AAU program – Team Elite 16U.
Dillard graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s in Sports Management in May 2018 and a Master’s in Middle School Education in May 2020.
