Tennille Adams enters her third season as an assistant coach with the Alabama women's basketball team after joining the program in June of 2023.
"We are so excited to have Tennille join our staff. She is a seasoned coaching veteran who will bring great expertise to so many areas of our program," said head coach Kristy Curry. "She played in the SEC at Arkansas making a Final Four and I know she's excited to be back in the SEC as a coach."
With 20 years of experience, Adams is considered one of the top post development coaches in the country. She joins the Crimson Tide staff after serving as the associate head coach at Central Florida last season.
Alabama - Assistant Coach (2023-Present)
- Aided Alabama to a 24-9 overall record during the 2024-25 season, marking the fourth consecutive 20-win season
- Helped the program to its 14 NCAA Tournament appearance
- Assisted in the squad becoming the fastest Crimson Tide team to reach 20 wins in a season (Feb. 9, 2025 at Mississippi State)
- Helped the UA receive a top 25 ranking in both the Associated Poll and US Today Coaches Poll, which included staying ranked every week in the coaches poll
- Assisted in the team's 13-1 non-conference record which marked the best start to a season in program history
- Helped Alabama collect a 10-6 SEC record, marking the fourth time in program history that Alabama has collected at least 10 conference wins
- Aided in the development of two All-SEC players in Sarah Ashlee Barker (first team) and Aaliyah Nye (second team)
- Helped Alabama to a 24-10 record and to the program's 13th NCAA Tournament berth during the 2023-24 season
- Assisted in the team's 23-8 regular season record - the most regular season wins for the Crimson Tide since 1991-92
- Helped lead UA to a 10-6 record during SEC play, marking the third time in program history that the Tide has collected at least 10 conference wins
- Assisted in the development of two All-SEC players in Sarah Ashlee Barker (first team) and Aaliyah Nye (second team)
- Worked primarily with post players, including a 2024 SEC All-Freshman selection in Essence Cody
Central Florida - Associate Head Coach (2022-23)
- Served as the offensive system coordinator and aided in the development of the post players
- Helped the program advance to the quarterfinals of the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament
- Coordinated opposing team scouting, individual workouts, film breakdown and helped create a strategic plan for the recruitment of student-athletes
Prior to Central Florida
- Spent one season (2021-22) as the associate head coach at Memphis, where she helped guide the Tigers to their best season since 2015-16 with 16 wins and an appearance in the AAC Tournament quarterfinals
- Helped guide Wright State to a pair of Horizon League titles and NCAA Tournament berths during her three-year tenure as the associate head coach (2018-21), including a second-round appearance in 2021
- Developed Horizon League All-Defensive team honoree Tyler Frierson and Horizon League Freshman of the Year Shamarra Hale
- Served as an assistant coach for three years at Ball State (2015-18) and helped the Cardinals make three consecutive trips to the Women's National Invitation Tournament, along with major wins over Power 5 foes Vanderbilt and Iowa
- Assisted in the development of All Mid-American Conference First Team selection Renee Bennett and Natalie Fontaine
- Worked as the head coach at Howard for two seasons (2013-15)
- Spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Northwestern (2008-13), where she helped the team reach back-to-back WNIT appearances while bringing in the 14th-ranked recruiting class in 2011 and the 20th-ranked class in 2009
- Developed WBNA draft-pick Amy Jaeschke during her time at Northwestern
- Served as an assistant coach at American during the 2007-08 season after coaching at North Carolina A&T State for two years (2005-07)

Playing Career
- Played collegiately at Arkansas, where she was a member of the 1998 Final Four team and 1999 WNIT Championship team
- Made the historic rebound put-back that advanced the Razorbacks to the Final Four
