Darah McInturf completed her fifth season as an athletic trainer at Alabama and her first with the women’s basketball team.
Over the past four years, McInturf has spent her time with the Alabama men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams. Her efforts last season were key in helping the men’s indoor track team to a Southeastern Conference Championship in 2018.
McInturf graduated from Ohio University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and a minor in psychology. While at Ohio, she worked with the Bobcats’ football and softball teams, along with the club hockey, lacrosse and rugby teams.
During her time as an undergraduate, she became the first student to work at the SHAPe Clinic (Clinic for Science and Health in Artistic Performance), established in August 2013, where she cared for musicians, dancers, theater performers and the Ohio band.
In 2013, McInturf won the Undergraduate Student Division for original research on the Balance Error Scoring System concussion test at the Ohio Athletic Trainers’ Association annual meeting and symposium. She was also awarded Ohio University’s Outstanding Athletic Training Graduate.
After graduating from Ohio, she received a Master’s of Arts in Health in 2016 from The University of Alabama.
McInturf is a board-certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. She is originally from Malta, Ohio, and currently resides in Tuscaloosa.
