A former Olympian Catie DeLoof joined the coaching staff in August of 2024.
"Catie is an exceptional addition to our coaching staff," Geer said. "Her extensive experience in high-level competition, combined with her dedication and enthusiasm will undoubtedly make a positive impact on our program. Catie's passion for teaching the sport and developing skill and character has been evident from the beginning of this process. She is a great fit for this role, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the Tide!"
DeLoof is an Olympic bronze medalist after helping Team USA's 4x100m freestyle relay team advance to the final before ultimately securing a third-place finish at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The 14-time All-American with Michigan continued her professional career as a member of the International Swimming League.Â

2024-Present
- Helped Alabama tally 33 All-American honors at the 2025 NCAA Championships, paced by a team-leading six honors from Cadence VincentÂ
- Saw 20 swimmers earn a spot at the 2025 NCAA ChampionshipsÂ
- Under her tenure with the team, Alabama has had seven swimmers earn All-SEC accoladesÂ
- The women's team finished 15th at the 2025 NCAA Championships while the men's team placed 13th
Athletic Career
- Tokyo Olympic Games (2020)
- Earned a bronze medal as a member of Team USA's 4x100m freestyle relay team during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
- Her 53.42 100m split in the preliminary heats was the team's second-fastest time during the race and helped propel the quartet to a qualifying fifth-place finish
Professional Career (2019-present)
- Qualified for four U.S. Olympic Team Trials beginning in 2012
- Placed third in the 100m freestyle at the 2023 Pan American Games
- Won two 2023 TYR Pro Championship titles, finishing first in the 50m and 100m freestyle, in addition to securing a runner-up finish in the 100m backstroke
- Finished first in the 50m freestyle at the Scottish National Short Course Championships
- Member of the International Swimming League
University of Michigan Swim Camps (2016-19)
- Coached all age groups
- Worked on holistic development through drills, dryland training nutrition and leadership coaching
Collegiate Career (2015-19)
- Swam for Michigan where she earned 14 All-America honors, including nine first-team nods
- Was a five-time Big Ten Champion and three-time All-Big Ten honoree
- Additionally, finished as the Big Ten Championship runner-up in the 50, 100 and 200y freestyle during her senior year
- Served as a student ambassador for Michigan, representing student-athletes to a variety of constituencies for the University
